Agreed that it should be overall easier to immigrate here.

It should be easier provided one meets the criteria, such as being able to support one's self and family, not having any infectious diseases, not having a criminal record and not suffering from some form of mental glitch which could be a danger to society.

Then there are those pesky quotas set so that too many don't negatively impact our own citizen's rights to jobs and resources first, while keeping in mind our population growth.

Stupid.

I've always disagreed with the lottery. It's just cruel.

Why? We have by far more legal immigrants than any other nation in the world but we also have very high unemployment rates and very high government spending on social programs like food stamps and Medicaid that are not limited to citizens.

Why do we need to import many millions more people when so many jobs are being exported out of the country? With over 10% unemployment rates, and the expansion of NAFTA there is no need for more labor.

If there is no demand, the supply will dwindle.

Funny how the "conservatives" like to try to co-opt libertarianism whenever it sounds good, but when faced with ideas like freedom of movement then the government intervention can't be big enough. It's one of the few things Ron Paul gets completely wrong.

"Freedom of movement"? Is that the new catch phrase for open borders?
