Just because your nephew is Pres Elect, doesn't mean you don't have to follow the laws.
Agreed. I knew she had been moved but I had no idea she was now in Chicago. In light of the fact that it's an illegal alien sanctuary/crime capital of the US, I'm not surprised.

I heard she's living with relatives in hiding.

Can some one please check the closets in Obama's house?

We are talking about the President elect. I doubt that he would be that stupid or selfless for that matter. After all aiding and abetting is a felony. On the other hand, she might be a guest at Michele's mother's house. I kid, I kid.

The President can request(he has repeatedly), he can provide ideas(he has repeatedly), but, Congress is the only entity that can actually do something about it. Like it or not, that is the fact. Congress refuses to do anything, for political reasons, not immigration reasons.

He can rally his party (as he did on Healthcare) to make this a priority issue. But he won't. And the other side of the aisle will not push the issue either. It's FAR too close to election year 2012 for either side to risk the loss of the Latino vote. As you correctly stated above, for political reasons, major reform on immigration will be swept to the side. Again, by both parties.

No, well, he's going to let them keep coming in. I mean these people are his own family, of course he's gonna look the other way.

You're missing my point. In a short amount of time, Republicans will have control of the House. They too will look the other way. Neither side is going to risk alienating that bloc of voters. It's a killer for those of us who have strong feelings on the absolute need for immigration reform - but both sides will let us down.

Deportations are UP, people.

RAYgun and Bush never did a thing about illegals other than to make them comfortable.

Remember how much time Shrub spent with Fox on the ranch while TX govenor?

Where the hell was the outrage about illegals over the last few decades? This isn't a new problem but the reich wingnuts whine more now that a D is in the white house?

Hypocrites at best, liars at worst.

Oh, please. ICE deported a little more than 300,000 while releasing over 500,000 back into our communities. How is that effective? Furthermore, both parties are complicit in this mess. For the umpteenth time, we don’t need immigration reform, we need immigration enforcement. How will we benefit from new laws when our current laws aren’t being enforced? Have we learned nothing from the 1986 debacle?

This isn’t Nazi Germany, and your inference is a reflection of ignorance.
