ALBANY—For Assemblyman Adriano Espaillat, the stances Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has taken cut personally: He was once an undocumented immigrant.

"I will not support anybody who has a position for English only," he said. "I'm an immigrant myself, and someone who came here with no papers.

If I were to come here today, and that kind of position prevailed, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to become an assemblyman."

So a former illegal alien is now an Assemblyman. Who knows, perhaps one day an illegal alien will become POTUS. I'm sure our laws can be changed to accommodate these hardworking interlopers.

I would have thought that a former illegal alien (despite turning citizen) would be permanently barred form seeking public office.

Well, we don't have to wonder why the ethnocentric racists in our government are taking over this country and demanding amnesty.
