That's the biggest problem with amnesty. The illegals will of course bring in their extended families, many who will not find jobs here, many who cannot speak our language, can never learn it, and will have to turn to welfare programs for their support. The whole argument that we NEED the cheap labor certainly clashes with the argument that we NEED to make the illegals legal so they can have minimum wage and all the government benefits provided to citizens.

How many yuppie housewives will want to pay minimum wage and benefits to their illegal live in servants or cheap nannies. How many employers of illegal "landscapers" will want to pay them minimum wage -- when the way they pushed legal businesses out was to undercut labor costs?

Exactly. There's just no real rational for an amnesty. It doesn't stop illegal immigration, it encourages more illegal immigration. It would make a mockery of our legal immigration system. So why are the Democrats harry and nancy pushing amnesty so hard? Oh yeah. For all of those future illegal alien Democratic voters if amnestied. The mostly white Democratic party leaders from their gated communities are blatantly hispandering for that new Democratic voter bloc.
