Colorado Police Laud New Immigration Technology: Top News Stories at Officer.com (http://www.officer.com/online/article.jsp?siteSection=1&id=45758 - broken link)

Quote:
Colorado police chiefs and sheriffs on Tuesday welcomed the system, which will give them near-instant access to federal immigration records. But pro-immigrant advocates warned that the system could be exploited to harass.

The system gives local arresting officers rapid access, via fingerprints, to federal records as detailed as remarks an immigrant might have made to a visa officer at an embassy abroad.
Ah yes, criticizing law enforcement technology in the name of illegal immigration.

I'm pretty certain that the Coloradans will make good use of this.

It’s funny that illegal alien advocates are always concerned with our laws being exploited to harass illegal aliens; yet, they have no problem whatsoever with illegal aliens exploiting, circumventing, and violating our laws for personal gain.

i have no problem with this.

in fact i have said several times that we should link all of these databases. ones that gather biometric data beyond fingerprints.

retinal scans. forearm length. wrist curc. etc etc.

no problem here.

can it be used for bad? just about anything in the wrong hands can.
