Garcia Martinez then backed away and started to yell and scream, Matteson said. Matteson said more officers arrived and tried to get her fingerprint but Garcia Martinez dropped to the floor and refused to get up. She tried to bite officers after they placed her in a control hold, he said.

"After that we stood her up and managed to get one finger out of a fist and actually get the fingerprint we needed," Matteson said.

Garcia Martinez was turned over to ICE officials on Thursday. ICE officials took her to St. Joseph's Hospital, ICE spokesman Vincent Picard said.

Immigrant suspect says jail officials broke her arm

You enter a country illegally, provide false documentation and attempt to bite the officers but you don't think the authorities have the right to fingerprint and detain you? I doubt that an American who entered mexico illegally and assaulted a mexican officer would live to tell the story. The insanity continues . . . . .

Despite the fact that this female is obviously violent, unfortunately, you are probably correct.

Absolutely -- if not something lethal.

Can you spell "U visa". Now that they've come out with the U visas, illegals are very quick to claim victimhood for about any reason. They have caught onto the fact that being a victim gets them extra handouts.

I don't condone that kind of behavior, it's shameful at best but every story has two sides.

Emergency-room doctors treated Garcia Martinez for an "acute left elbow fracture" and other injuries, according to the woman's hospital records.
Two rights don't make a wrong not because she entered illegally authorities have the right to use excessive force on her. Besides they aren't 100% sure that the woman in question is indeed illegal.

Now, if the woman in question is indeed illegal, then the authorities should deport her, authorities have the right to do whatever is necesary to enforce their laws within their borders, but there is a line between law enforcement and police abuse imho.

now what do you tell me about these articles

During a routine inspection of an American bus entering Mexico, Army units discovered a person trying to smuggle guns into Mexico illegally.

Confiscated was a 12 gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle with scope and a .380 semi auto pistol from Luis Estrada Carrizal, 62 years old.
All passengers were detained for a period of time at the Palacio Federal by agents of Mexican Customs and the Attorney General’s investigators. All with the exception of Mr. Carrizel were allowed to continue their journey later in the day.

This is the second time an American bus has been detained at the border. Tuesday, during another routine inspection, $120,000.00 was found. No person claimed ownership of the money.

Omnibus Mexicanos - One arrested at border for smuggling weapons into Mexico | Mexico Trucker Online

The LA Times recently listed the top 10 places Americans get arrested overseas, and the list should not surprise any inveterate traveler.

Tijuana, Mexico -
in 2006, 520 Americans were arrested in Tijuana, mostly for alcohol, drug, and gun-related charges.
Guadalajara, Mexico - Do people think they can get away with more illegal behavior in Mexico? In 2006, 416 Americans were arrested in Guadalajara, and four of the top five travel spots in which US citizens were arrested, were Mexican cities.
Nuevo Lardeo, Mexico - Nuevo Laredo is right across the US-mexico border from Laredo, Texas, and U.S. citizens cross the border to buy cheap goods and Mexican crafts. And thats not all that Americans cross the border for; in 2006, 359 Americans were arrested here.
Mexico City, Mexico - The capital of Mexico is one tough city, and pretty difficult to negotiate with public transportation; Mexico City covers 570 miles and is really crowded as well. 208 US citizens were arrested here in 2006.
Merida, Mexico - The Yucatan is a popular travel destination for Americans, and its surrounding areas (Cancun, Merida, etc) are hot spots for spring break. Freewheeling college students on luxury spring vacations can't get as drunk and rambunctious here as they'd like (without repercussions, anyway). The State Department reported 99 US citizens arrested in Merida, Mexico in 2006.
Nogales, Mexico - Like Nuevo Laredo, Nogales is right across the border from the United States. Nogales isn't as rough a town as is Nuevo Laredo, and US citizens come here for both dining and shopping. Americans don't necessarily come to Nogales to get arrested, but in 2006, 96 people broke the law and spent some time in a Mexican jail. Dios Mio!

Getting Arrested While on Vacation: Don't Ruin a Luxury Trip by Landing in Jail in a Foreign Country

If you google for bad news you'll find them because every country has it's share of good and bad citizens, people who respect the law and people who doesn't, but it would be ridiculous to condemn an entire nation for the bad behavior of some of it citizens.

That's true. Not all Americans come into contact with the good patriotic citizens of Mexico who love their country and respect our country and it's laws.

Usually they mean the illegal bunch that is here and believes it is above the laws.

I wouldn't feel all that bad for an American found illegally in Mexico who got injured trying to bit a Mexican policeman. Americans are also subject to deportation when we break the laws of other nations, and we should be.

Unfortunately, it's the illegals who are most able to provide the image of Mexico, in part due to their very large numbers here. They crowd out the image that hard working legal immigrants provide and also the image of people who remain in Mexico and are working to make it a good country.

Illegals will justify their breaking of our laws by flat out lying about their own country, making it appear far worse than it is.

1,500 call for immigration reform in El Paso rally - El Paso Times

An illegal on her 7th baby claiming that people in Mexico are starving to death. Now what does that tell the American public which has never been to Mexico? They will believe that in Mexico, people are dying of starvation which is not the case at all.

Annabelle Galindo, a pregnant mother of six, said her husband has been at the Otero County Detention Center for almost three months and will be repatriated to Mexico soon. Galindo fears he'll never make it back to the United States, or that she'll have take her children to Mexico, where they could starve.

So -- not only is she reproducing irresponsibly, she is making up lies about her own country to justify why she came here and is on her 7th welfare baby.

I couldn't agree more. There is no excuse for their irresponsible breeding habits and reprehensible criminal behavior. Yet they wonder why we the American taxpayers have no sympathy for them or their self inflicted miseries and want them out of our country.

Another great post. I would love to rep you but I gotta spread a little love around. Please accept my IOU.
