With the SF city councils recent immigration policies, how do you see the city residents reacting in future years?
Personally, I feel that once the aliens move into the city, the residents will become increasingly against illegal immigration and will therefore react by voting for candidates that will take a tougher stance on the subject.
It can only help anti-illegal immigrant supporters in my opinion.

Like many people; in particular wealthy individuals......I suspect that SF's denizens are quite 'tolerant' of 'diversity'-------if it is elsewhere (not next door).
Once the illegals become a real problem-------then NIMBY will kick in and the so-called 'Liberals' will become angry at being hassled.

The thing with SF is that the yuppies live next door to the poor apartment complexes. It is a "tossed salad" of housing. There really arent bad areas and their really arent great areas. If aliens move in, the yuppies probably will be affected moreso than in a place like LA.

Nob Hill is affluent by even SF standards whereas the Mission District ain't------at least 20 years such was the case.
I have a LOT of connections with San Francsico (my grandmother told vivid stories of the "Big One" (earthquake) in 1906, which she experienced as a 16-year old).
San Francisco has ALWAYS been a 'weird" place, and proud of it. I suspect that the present tolerant attitude toward illegals won't make much difference..it will only set a precedent for the next "crusade" somewhere down the line, when the NEXT group wants to be exempted from some law. And this will be fine, because it's San Francisco...and that's how it's SUPPOSED to work, there.
