Lately I have been looking at the DAP portal news and saw some of them that have not been posted here that I think merit being in the Illegal Immigration forum.

WisPolitics Budget Blog: JFC passes in-state tuition for some undocumented students (http://blogs.wispolitics.com/budget/2009/05/jfc-passes-in-state-tuition-for-some.html - broken link)

Quote:
A controversial measure to allow some undocumented students to avoid nonresident tuition rates at UW System and Wisconsin Technical College System schools was passed on a party-line vote. (Budget paper 812)

The provision allows for in-state tuition rates for people who graduated from a Wisconsin high school or received a GED from this state, have been in the state for three years after their first day of attending a Wisconsin school or prior to their receipt of the GED, and have filed to be a permanent resident.
Surely more states willl follow. I am happy to claim my permanent residency to a state that has a similar law, Texas.

It appears that Illegal Aliens have more rights than LEGAL U.S. students that wish to move from state to state.. If a student moves from Nevada to California for example, they would still have to pay the out of state tuition whereas the Illegal Alien would receive the In-State rate..

Illegal Aliens should NOT be in U.S. colleges to begin with.. They should be in Prison..

This applies to illegal aliens "who graduated from a Wisconsin high school or received a GED from this state, have been in the state for three years after their first day of attending a Wisconsin school or prior to their receipt of the GED". If I'm not mistaken these would be the similar requirements for a Legal U.S. student who wants to study in another state, If they move to the state 3 years before going to the University they also get in-state tuition.

I am happy that the JFC in Wisconsin does not seem to agree with you.

Too bad we can't see reports on how much these children of lat/lon challenged trespassers cost the tax payers by the time they reached College age. Just like a student loan I think they should be forced to pay back the govt for their excursion or have their credit adjusted accordingly for what they have cost me and my fellow tax payers.
