Considering what the republican party has become, I think Arnie represents them very well. The republicans should be labeled as the republican branch of the democratic party.
Republicans and Democrats are two wings on the same bird of prey.

Both parties have sold out to the large globalist corporations and neither cares anything about the American people.
With the politicians, it's really all about the cheapest possible labor for their beloved elites, and also you can just bet there are deals behind closed doors going on that involve getting these corporations into Mexico.
Unfortunately, until "we the people" wake up and take off the party tinted glasses at the voting booth, I don't see any change coming in the future. We have a two party system that has morphed into a one party system. And "We the People allowed this transformation to occur.
I think it was Einstein (not positive) that stated "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
Look who we keep returning to office !
"Keep voting the way You vote and You'll keep getting what You've got"
Overall,I guess we can only hope that the voters of both parties demand results from their elected officials or toss them out.
We need two parties that offer actual differences, not a continuing effort to legislate from the center in order to appease everyone.

Follow the money.
And; looking at Mexico's crashing birthrate (it is barely above replacement level now), within one generation, that nation will suffer the effects of outsourcing to __________ as its peons will finally have some real leverage to demand much higher (Gringo) wages.

They should plan ahead over there and start DEMANDING we give them their people back NOW.
For one -- once they get used to all the entitlements over here they're of no use to anyone. Even the farm workers are only good for one generation (if that), their children grow up too haughty to do that kind of work. Like they say, those jobs are too lowly for Americans AND USA born and raised children of illegals to do.
The problem started with deregulation of electricity under Gray Davis. During that time, California was the economic darling of the world (Silicon Valley, the "Gold Coast" of Santa Barbara to San Diego, San Diego's biotech, the Silicon Coast of Orange County, even the booming logistics and manufacturing of Riverside and San Bernardino). We simply spent too much on a bloated government. For example, there are two organizations in California dedicated to education...we only need one. They do the same exact thing. Several duplicate departments like this are found in California's government.
The boom led to bust and the state also lost tons of money with Enron...which pretty much fabricated the energy crisis. California is also suffering from a severe recession due to the manipulation of the lending and real estate industries.
The billions that are spoken of in this post for illegal immigrants also includes education. A recent study from UC cited that education costs will actually pay for themselves since having a diploma or GED significantly reduces the chances of entering into social service programs. Since disposible income rises, this increases spending...which is now the newest collapse (lack of personal spending is creating unemployment right now...so we need to consume more. I like the irony personally, consumption led us into this crisis...consumption will take us out).
California is not really in a position to devote money to catch illegals that are already here. We should focus on trying to educate them...which will repay back. A side note, national universal healthcare and legalization of marijuana would actually benefit the state as well.

Education is of no use if they refuse to avail themselves. Illegals have been provided a tax-funded K-12 education in this country since the passage of Plyler v. Doe. What are the results? The vast majority never graduate from high school; rather, they prefer to have babies and become welfare recipients. This in turn, leads to generational welfare; and the cycle never ends. We have enough high school dropouts draining us dry. Why on earth would we want to compound the problem? We simply need to send them ALL home.
