Undocumented students in Wisconsin received a gift on Monday when Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle signed a provision that allows such students to receive in-state tuition rates under certain circumstances.
The law makes Wisconsin the 11th state to offer in-state tuition to undocumented immigrants. It will only extend to students who have lived in Wisconsin at least three years prior to graduating from high school or obtaining a GED.

Not only should they not receive in-state tuition, they shouldn't receive out-of-state tuition either. They shouldn't be permitted in American colleges AT ALL.

this is simply disgusting. if a foreigner can receive in state tuition in WI, I should be able to go to a WI college and get in state tuition even though I live in PA.

Shame on them and the other 10 states. Send the illegal-undocumented home to the country of origin of the undocumented family.... instead of giving them in-state tuition to get an even playing field with the people live here legally.

First of all, the term "undocumented" is a dishonest euphemism. It makes it sound as if the people in question have just filled out their paperwork incorrectly. People who use the term "undocumented" are pretty much either unthinking sycophants to political correctness or are complicit to lawbreaking. Take your pick.
Now that that's out of the way, basically Wisconsin is subsidizing illegals to attend its public universities. At the same time, because there are a finite number of available slots at any given institution, every time it chooses to matriculate an illegal it means that a legal resident will not be admitted.
In what universe is this fair?

In any universe where those who pay taxes - the residents - have equal rights to the services paid for with those taxes. There is no subsidy. Simply the same treatment of all residents.
In many states the pecking order is established by the skills present to do college level work.

Residents cannot be deported. Illegals can. Hence they're not residents. Illegals also have no right to claim social services. Or at least you illegals supporters keep telling us.
This is just yet another example where illegals not only expect to ignore our laws they expect special benefits above and beyond those available to American citizens. That's ridiculous.
