Of course not-------especially with our high unemployment rate for Americans.

I moved to AZ in 89 from NJ (where I was born). The entire time I lived there, I don't recall ever meeting any one from south of the border but, I know now that's changed. I've heard people from back east making comments about day workers waiting near the entrances of places like Home Depot. I don't remember ever seeing any immigration authorities back east, maybe that has also changed but, if it hasn't maybe that might have something to do with illegal aliens settling down that far north. Their presence is easily noticed but, they're less likely to get arrested and deported. State, county or local police usually won't deal with that....with the exception our Sheriff Joe.

On a side note, I heard yesterday, the attorney general, the county sheriffs and a bunch of local police departments, got all or a substantial part of the money they requested from the stimulus package, except for Sheriff Joe who got zero (even though he's the sheriff of the largest county in AZ).

The number of Mexican nationals I met in the Wash DC area 30+ years ago I could count on the fingers of one hand---------they were that rare. Too; said Mexicans were educated/affluent folks unlike the illegal alien riffraff around here.
