Im sick and tired of hearing people act like controling the illegals would be so hard. It wouldnt be if we REQUIRED that all alien workers to get a workers permit in order to work, They can then work any approved job and pay taxes and be accountable like all us are, They will not be allowed to move to another job without another approved permit. Anyone who works an alien that doesnt require to validate his permit is ARRESTED AND FINED,,,If you control how they make money you can control their effect on our economy....IT WORKS IN CANADA,,,,,

I think BigDGeek refers to unskilled workers. Canada has a program. Employers recruit in Mexico, get them permits, flights, housing, food, etc... and the workers stay during harvesting season, around 6 months, and then get back to Mexico with their earned money. Must of them return the next year.
I think it's a good approach and that there's demand for such a program... but the employers already get their way without having to pay for anything so why bother. The program would have to be accompanied by strict law enforcement, and that doesn't seem to be the specialty of the house here.

Its too easy to get a fake birth certificate or steal one and its clear our system doesnt work.. You cant get around the permit system like you can get around our non effective efforts to verify who is who. The system in Canada is much better than ours so my question is why not use it..IT WORKS Thats what we want is it not? a workable solution?

Canada has open borders and they have found a way to still control the aliens. We need to secure our borders for sure but we also have to deal with them once they are here.The 30 million here now arent worried about no borders....

Canada doesnt have open borders. We've crossed the Canadian Border twice last year in our travel from Alaska to the lower 48. A Passport is required or you don't enter (this went in effect June 1st). Prior to that you could get through with a picture I.D. They ask lots of questions before you are permitted into Canada.

Lets see, if we provide a "path to citizenship" or worker's permits to the people already here it will serve as an incentive for tens of millions of more people to cross the border illegally and then in 15 years we face the same problems all over again. A sovereign nation can't exist if it doesn't have control over its borders.

That's because the US is in the way and offers a very easy avenue to steal services. Why bother with Canada.
