The media appointed leaders of the Black Community, like Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, are always supporting the rights of the illegal aliens. They hide behind the term civil rights for immigrants or comprehensive immigration reform, but the results are the same- millions of illegals taking the jobs of low skilled African Americans.
You would think the black people they represent would tell Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson that the illegals from Latin America are taking their jobs! What is this all about?

I wouldn't consider them black leaders, whatever that term means.

That is the problem. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton don't represent anyone. The are media hogs, and just because people think these two are leaders of the black community doesnt make it so. To many black Americans, it doesn't make a difference what Jessie and Al say or do, because it doesn't pertain to them.

It's about winning votes when you put up candidates for election (or decide to run yourself). They're gambling that the newly legalized Americans will perceive them as champions, and therefore vote them in.
Not any different from either of the Bush presidents tossing off a few phrases in Spanish...as though that was a part of the population they actually embraced.

...why?...
Because someone is paying the "Black leaders" to help keep their Black "Brothers" out of the work force.....

Why do the majority of black congressmen and women have the same views as Jessie and Al then? If it was really going to hurt them with the black constituents, they would have changed their views on this issue a long time ago.

Because they see it as a way to get back at whitey and increase the numbers of people of color in this country.

All I am saying is that Jessie and Al are not "Black Leaders". The are not representatives of the Black Communitee. Many black people believe that Jessie and Al are nothing more then media hogs.

Considering that jackson and sharpton are, as You correctly noted, "media appointed leaders", perhaps the real question should be: " Why do black elected officials continue to support amnesty for illegal aliens, which has a negative impact on those they were elected to represent" ?
My guess would be for the same reason that the majority of other elected officials ( of all ethnicities) support mass amnesty as well : They do not, in any way, support those that elected them to office...... they support the wishes of their donors.
