It will more likely be a takeover of probably northern Mexico by the USA if the former nation continues its slide into anarchy courtesy of the drug wars.
Frankly; it would not surprise me to see Sonora, Baja and, in particular, Nuevo Leon petition the USA for help/protection.
That would indeed be a nightmare. Imagine having ALL of Mexico’s miscreants granted unfettered access to this country.
If we would up with the whole nation (which I doubt); being that Mexico is an economic pipsqueak compared to the USA almost to the scale of 10:1 our favor------I suspect that our laws and mores would come into force up to and including the forced phaseout of the Spanish language in favor of English.

Nah, they won't accept just a star... they'll want another stripe! And probably a green one since there are already red and white ones.
I think not: if we wound up with part of Mexico; each new state (we have a tendency to continue historic place names) would receive its own star. ie. Nuevo Leon, Baja California (both Norte and Del Sur), Sonora, Chihuahua as well as Tamalpaus (sp) would add seven stars to Old Glory.

Maybe not...maybe if these bad guys were "ours", we'd be allowed to prosecute them, put them in jail, and MAYBE even 'get mad' at them....no more 'Special Order 40', no more 'illegals aren't criminals', no more 'xenophobia'...if the criminals were AMERICAN criminals, we could address them as criminals...not as 'undocumented workers'.
