What are you doing to help your country besides complain ?

I see all kinds of protesting and rallys from illegals but who is there to stop them or at least fight back with counter protest , ' peaceully of course '?

Tea Parties ( when within driving distance) faxing through FAIR,NumbersUSA, direct e-mails to my local reps, state senators, and the Governator, Obama, and attend city council meetings when the subject is on the agenda. (Not as common or as volitile as a few years ago)

Perusing out of town newspapers (and even out of state) for articles related to illegal aliens that allow responses in a forum to advise people of what the associated problems/costs that come with illegals and provide links to orgs that they can utilize to both study and get involved in the fight.

Any more suggestions?

And You ?

BL

Middle class American culture (as we've known it in the past 60 years or so) simply doesn't allow for loud, violent, 'in-your-face' demonstrations. There was SOME of this during the Viet Nam war years, but basically, for the most part, such loud 'rallies' have been the province of the immigrant, the poor racial minority, the disenfranchised, or the 'marginalized'.

As the situation deteriorates...as middle class Americans become increasingly frustrated by an unresponsive government, as multiculturalism begins to erase the very concept of what IS a 'middle class American', these demonstrations may very well come to have a regular place in our society....just as they have in the Third World.

I don't look forward to that day.

You'd be surprised. If you look at any article about illegal immigration the comments on it are always about 95 percent against illegal immigration. It appears to be the hottest topic barely under gay marriage. Politicians can't be THAT stupid to miss all that dialogue.

Even talks around the office get most riled up. Amnesty... hardly.
