It’s time to end the tax exempt status of these churches.

A coalition of religious groups that includes progressive faith activists and denominations and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is sending out 250,000 postcards urging comprehensive immigration reform as part of a campaign called Home for the Holidays.

Yeah, I am all for the illegals going "home for the holidays" and not returning to the U.S.

Churches are advocating for illegal immigrants and encouraging breaking our immigration laws. Maybe they are ignoring United States laws in favor of Gods call to take care of everyone. Maybe churches need illegal immigrants in order to fill their pews as more American citizens have become, shall we say, disenchanted? From my personal experience, a very dear friend of the family who happened to be a Catholic priest was directly involved in smuggling Salvadorians across the border in the 80s and was in fact busted. Were he alive today, I wonder how he would feel about his actions in light of all the MS-13 gang members out-numbering the police force in this country.

What's interesting is that so many illegals come from Catholic countries.

I suppose it's easier to just expect to bring all the third world in and get them on government programs like Medicaid and food stamps rather than work to build schools and hospitals back in those Catholic countries.

They even had a newspaper article here a while back about the "charity" work some Catholic nuns were doing. These nuns were Mexican immigrants themselves and the charity amounted to finding loopholes in welfare program and immigration laws and helping immigrants, legal and illegal find and apply for government handouts.

Where is separation of church and state??

Is it not against the law for churches to get involved in Federal & State affairs, that do not include the church or religion in General???

I agree... It’s time to end the tax exempt status of these churches.
