The justification is that unemployed Americans still don't want to sleep 14 men to a floor of a shack or live 4 to 5 families in a one family house. It's ALL about getting the cheapest possible labor and illegals are very willing to work for less than legal wages and will gladly accept no benefits.

It's the same reason jobs are still being exported by the thousands while thousands of people flood over the border. We also have a government that is glad to extend unemployment handouts and up the welfare benefits to accomodate all this.

You know why? because the anti immigration crowd is actually perpetuating illegal immigration with their xenophobia and use of exaggerated "facts" Once they are proved to be providing incorrect statistics they lose all credibility and sound like nutcases. If they were smart enough they would use real facts and more people would join them.

You want to be heard? Use real facts, make sure you respect other cultures so you don't sound like a racist and scare away people and call your congressman and complain.

I do not respect a 'culture' that aids and abets illegal immigration--------such individuals are traitors and need to be dealt with accordingly.

Hispanic or not: illegals are losers and need to leave the USA pronto.

Again, who is anti-"immigrant"? This is about illegal immigration! Exaggerated facts? Show us those "exaggerated" facts. Xenophobia is a fear of strangers. We are the most diverse country on this planet so how can we be xenophobic? Oh, I see if we are opposed to ILLEGAL immigration that makes us xenophobic according to you and your side? I suggest you look that word up in the dictionary. It says nothing like that.

We don't need any negative economic facts or any other negative facts to justify our opposition to illegal immigration because we have the one thing that really counts and that is that illegal immigration is against the laws of our country and every other country in the world. The problem is that your side cannot dispute that one at all so you go for the race card instead.

What has illegal immigration have to do with not respecting other cultures?

I disagree!!!

Your in the wrong forum. There is a legal immigration forum here at city-data, where you can discuss issues with anti-immigration.
Your in the illegal immigration forum. Much different, yet both have laws that define each.

The problem is it's a never ending battle. Each new administration tries to pass CIR, and fortunately we've been able to stop it so far, but this may not always be the case.
What we need is something binding for future administrations. The only thing that can do that is to have the Supreme Court rule on the intent of the 14th Ammendment, or for Congress to pass an adendum to the ammendment clarifying it once and for all. That would go a long way in cutting down on the flow of illegal immigrants, because they wouldn't have citizen children who qualify for social services. Employer sanctions need to be strengthened, and strictly enforced also. With no jobs, and no social services, there would be little incentive for illegal immigration. Otherwise we're going to go through this every few years, while more and more illegal immigrants flood the country.

Well, these are all common sense proposals but with this Congress how would one ever get any of these proposals implemented.

Sorry to inform you, but many American citizens don't want undocumented people from other places coming into our nation and competing with us for limited jobs, while also driving down the cost of labor! If even one job in the continental US goes to an illegal instead of an American ciitizen that wants it and is qualified, then there's a problem. Trying to make a living on a fair and legal playing feild in an effort to provide for a family DOES NOT CONSTITUTE RACISM!!!

LOL! Talk about being inaccurate. It's not anti-immigration. It's anti-ILLEGAL immigration. Guess what? You just lost all credibility on this issue.

Xenophobia? What's xenophobic about wanting foreigners to come to the United States legally?

By the way, many of the facts and statistics that the anti-ILLEGAL immigration folks use in their arguments come directly from various city, county, state, and federal government agencies.
