All of them happy to use free American health care now. Not one of them will expect to pay their hospital bills.

How insensitive. For all we know these people are unconscience and unresposive. I dont blame the US for what happened to these people but that should in no way give people the right to be insensitive to their medical condition. This is yet another example of how evil and disgusting these "coyotes" are. Another reason why we should close that border. According to the spanish news reports, the BP was already following the vehicle and the driver, who was the "coyote" decided to jump off 45 feet down, taking with him more than a dozen people. The smuggler did not care about killing other 18 human beings. The smuggler should be sentenced to life and the others I'm sure will be deported once they are stabilized.

What usually happens is they will be allowed to stay if they testify against the smuggler. Total baloney they allow that.

I have never heard of it in cases where the authorities have witnessed it themselves.

Th coyote did not hold a gun to their heads and force them into the truck. If these individuals had stayed where they were supposed to be instead of trying to sneak into the US, none of this would have happened.

Thank you! They simply suffered the consequences of their actions. When people engage in illegal activities, they are often injured or killed. It goes with the territory. I agree with malamute. Now, we will be stuck with their hospital bills. Heaven forbid one has a serious injury requiring intensive care. The hospital could lose millions, and then risk a lawsuit for refusing to provide “free” care indefinitely.
