It is only a matter of time before the current 20 million illegal aliens in America will be given amnesty. Then they will be able to get better jobs because they will have more employers who are open to hiring them. Instead of just working off the books or at places that look the other way when they showed fake documents, now the illegals will be able to work pretty much everywhere.
What happens to the employers whose entire business model is based on paying illegal aliens off the books, not following overtime rules or safety standards or finding scared and desparate workers who would take just about any job, no matter how nasty, just for money? They will need a new group of workers that can be exploited.
Who will take the jobs that Americans do not want to do when the previously illegal aliens are now legal?

I doubt more than 300-500K illegals will receive amnesty, to be honest. The hostility; especially in this nasty economy, is now too great. |

It will be like the last 'last amnesty'.......more illegals will pour over the border with the idea that if they manage to stay long enough they will eventually get citizenship.
Sad to say but it is has been a proven strategy.

The current criminals will be replaced by new ones. If the math holds up the next round will be 100 million since we went from 3-20 million just since 1986.

On that note adding 20 million to the public dole should raise every American's taxes about 1000 a year. Get out your checkbooks.

It's obvious they will be replaced by new illegals who will have to be brought in to do the jobs at very low pay that Americans, the amnestied of the 1980s, and the amnesty of the 2010 won't do.
Landscapers, illegal nannies and maids, dishwashers and janitors working for less than minimum wage can be let go and once legal can apply for unemployment, SSI, or other welfare handouts. There will be plenty more willing to work illegally and the politicians already claim they can't do anything about illegal workers or illegal employers who bring them in by the semi-trailer loads.

I know that it will not stop the flow of illegals into our country. We will not be the USA in 20 years unless we stop this insanity. What is it about this country that people do not feel it is worth keeping? |

Needless to say: my 'White guilt' is now dead and buried. Whenever someone tries to call me a racist due to my hostility towards illegal aliens---------I fire back that they (illegals) are criminals along with their enablers and need to be punished severely.  |

Wrong. The businesses which employ illegal immigrants cannot afford to hire white non-Hispanics....(or black, Asian, or Hispanic American citizens of ANY description). If they could, they would have. Businesses which can ONLY afford illegal help will have to 'let people go' if they're legalized....and either close up shop, move overseas, or hire new illegals.
The only other possibility is that these businesses really CAN afford legal help, but are simply lying. I'm sure that's not the case, though. |
