We have millions of unemployed citizens in dire need of training. Yet, our tax dollars are being spent on foreign day laborers. One would have to be extremely naive to believe these workers are legal. When will this insanity end?

Quote:
Beginning next month, day laborers will be eligible for job training and social service programs in three Queens neighborhoods under a new $1.2 million initiative paid for with federal stimulus dollars.

But advocates say they won't be satisfied with anything less than full-fledged immigration centers.

But Guallpa said she would rather see the city invest in permanent job centers that can educate and train workers and advocate on behalf of them. She is worried about what will happen to the initiative when the stimulus money runs out in September.

I'm cool with it if they are legally here, but what are the odds of that? Also, why are so many of our immigrants out-of-work? And that was going on before the economic woes. One of the principles of immigration is that you should be able to get a job after arriving here or you have a job waiting for you once you get here. It makes no sense to be putting an immigration burden on the country, that's the exact opposite of what immigration is supposed to be about. Basically, we are doing what the country of where those people are from should have done and that is training their nationals and creating programs like this. This is retarded.
