Thailand moves to send Hmong back to Laos - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_thailand_hmong - broken link)
Thailand has the right idea. This is exactly how we should treat illegals in this country.
Round them up and push them back accross the border.

Yes take the gloves off. Round them up and kick them out. That really is all the common courtesy that is due. It is a whole lot more than what they have shown this great nation.
Thailand is dead on with this approach. Enough is enough.

The anger has been building for so long against illegal aliens that I am afraid that the time for 'common courtesy' may have passed..............things will likely get ugly (mostly for probable illegals).
Yes, let's use the Thai government as a roll model for us in all things. They have a long history of due process, equality under the law, and democratic government. When the US government burns your town to the ground for some minor infraction, you will see how much easier things are resolved under such a regime.

Perhaps so. And when Thailand becomes ashamed of its own culture, unable to agree among its own population on what it means to be 'Thai', cannot agree on what language it should use, and puts the rights of foreign trespassers ahead of Thais, then the folks in Thailand may have a greater understanding of what OUR society is like.
When Thailand reaches out in an effort to accomodate the whole world, perhaps it will find that instead of making friends, it will mostly have succeeded in making enemies, and that no one is likely to respect Thailand, unless it respects itself.
Perhaps Thailand has as much to learn from us, as we have to learn from them. Then again, perhaps nobody 'messes' with Thailand, because Thailand hasn't invited disrespect.
Lastly, maybe Thailand knows it is better 'liked' in the world community than the USA is....despite its indifference to 'foreigners', and despite the USA's 'bend-over-backward' determination that it MUST accomodate anyone and everyone who comes along....no questions asked. Maybe Thailand is ahead in the 'popularity contest', because it has no 'guilt complex' as a society.
Then again, maybe not.....Something to consider, though... at least.

Have you ever been to Thailand? Have you even met anyone from Thailand?
Thailand is not perfect, and no one has claimed that they are. But we can learn a few things from them. They too have a big problem with illegals and they have been hurt worse by it than we have. They have the right approach on this. Round them up and kick them out once and for all.
Apeasment and amnesty will only encourage more, as we have seen from the last amnesty. Strict enforcment of our immigration laws and enforcment of our laber laws is what we need to do.
I'll take the Thai approach over the turn a blind eye approach or reward the criminal approach anytime and every time.

Not enforcing immigration laws does not make the world think of us as kind, and benevolent. It makes them consider us weak, and ineffectual. You don't see illegal aliens marching in the streets, and demanding 'rights' in countries which strictly enforce their immigration laws

Yet the pro-illegals argue otherwise. They are claiming that it makes us look heartless. They are that desperate in their arguments against common sense.
