Need to add to the profiling list and expand this Law all across the U.S. Blacks(they could be Somali pirates), Orientals(they could be Chinese Terrorists), Middle Easterners(they could be Muslim Terrorists), Blond hairs(they could be German Terrorists), red hairs(they could be Irish Terrorists), etc.. Pretty soon, the only people able to walk down an American street unmolested, would be American Indians ...... Hey, maybe this Law isn't so bad after all.

Because of the provisions in the Law which punish Police Officers for failing to enforce, some departments, notably phoenix, have said they will challenge the citizenship of everyone they stop.
No, a driver's license, many fake ones out there, does NOT prove you are a citizen.
The Repubs won't be satisfied until citizens have numbers tattooed on their arms to prove something we never had to prove before.
But they have always been very short-sighted about the future...they are willing to lose personal freedoms because of their hatred for a whole race , and it IS about race.....or the CEOs and owners of the companies that HIRE the illegals would be targeted...they aren't...they just reap the BENEFITS of illegals...the police won't hassle THEM.

And why would anyone question your "lawful presence" in the United States unless it was as a direct result of racial proflling?
I Have to wonder what the skin color of all these people who think this law is no big deal is. I'm guessing white, and they don't care because they know they will never be hassled. Pathetic.
And to the OP -- no, your DL and SSN are not always enough. They will demand a BC and other documentation, if the SSN and DL doesn't convince them. And guess what that means? You go into handcuffs and are detained until someone can bring in more documents. It's crap, and it will never be used on whites. I expect it to be struck down.
Every single adult (and some minors) should already carry some form of ID whether it's a DL or a State ID card or passport. It's just common sense. If you lack that (the ID and/or the common sense) then you risk having a problem. And not just in Arizona.
I'm not going to speculate on what MIGHT happen in AZ with this new law. I'm pretty sure the police still have actual jobs to do and aren't going out in force to stop everyone who looks hispanic or foreign or whatever. I'm willing to take a wait and see approach to this. More likely if you get stopped for a valid reason, can't speak the language and have nothing to prove who you are then there is going to be an investigation, as there ought to be.
Just obey the law of the land and you'll have no problem.
