Blackshoe, I agree with you when you said that the illegals in Cal are arrogant and smug. Like they deserve all of the rights as the legal Americans do. Many of them do not even like Americans.

It's not a matter of them deserving rights as a legal American it's a matter of FACT that they indeed DO have certain rights under the Constitution, Federal law, and Supreme Court Rulings.
More and more I think it's not going to be the political process that makes any changes in California. With the state budget mess and the growing unemployment, the tent cities of homeless Americans, things are going to come to a head, it's just a matter of time.
Nothing is being done in California for the American people except to send them unemployment checks and increase their unemployment and bring in millions more impoverished people, most from a country with very low unemployment rates.
California needs to reinvent its taxation system to be able to accommodate recessions. This is a major issue for California's budget during this recession not to mention their liberal spending habits.
As for jobs in California, were in a recession, even illegal immigrants lose or lost their jobs and probably went back to their County of origin.
It's not like only Californians lost their jobs but illegal immigrant all kept their jobs, this is absurd and silly.
The Northeast will NEVER enact tough legislation against illegals. It's sad, but true.
I disagree... Massachusetts probably not. But Maine and NH are definitely pretty intolerant of illegal immigration. This is partly because these places are generally small towns and very culturally homogeneous, everyone knows everyone else. I think NH have been trying pretty hard to enforce immigration laws but have been consistently overruled by the courts.
Of all the regions in the US, New England probably has the lowest share of illegal immigrants so far.

The Northern Rockies states and the Dakotas also not yet overwhelmed by them. Perhaps the cold climate has kept them away. But then again, New York and Illinois is loaded with them, states not known for nice weather, so who knows?
