Gov. Jan Brewer has just slapped the gauntlet across the president's face with this TV ad.

YouTube - President Obama, No One in Arizona is Laughing

Wish we had governors doing this a decade ago. The border problems with Mexico have gotten worse, and what we are seeing is what happens when the federal government is refusing to protect the country, because its policy makers are more interested in pushing their political agendas.

Go for it, Jan!! You have a lot of support from citizens across the country who are sick and tired of both parties ignoring the seriousness of inadequate border protection.

While I certainly agree with the sentiment of the ad , using a clip from the Correspondent's dinner is a little "off base".

The speeches made at that dinner are on a night where "off the cuff" comments are said in humor.

It doesnt matter to the rightwing, misrepresenting the truth is part and parcel of the GOP, its how they do elections in the Karl Rove era. Lie,spin, misrepresent, even use the W.H. Correspondents Dinner in your campaign ads (desperation)

Well, they certianly aren't laughing to the bank. Even mainstream Republicans know this is a terrible and frankly stupid idea. I believe the state has already lost a few dozen million dollars.

They have managed to alienate the fastest growing segment of the population. That's alright tho, the Republican party is slowly nailing its own coffin.

So they're alienating the illegal alien population, which happens to be the fastest growing population in the U.S. (between 1 and 3 million new illegals in the U.S. per year).

You do realize that illegals are not allowed to vote, don't you? (At least, not technically)

No, the Hispanic population (you know, about 1 in 10 americans) and probably all minorities while they're at it.

But I guess according to you, all minorities are illegal.

Racist, much?

You do realize that the 70% of Arizonans who support this law include a plurality of Hispanic citizens, don't you?

But I suppose that as a Latinofascist, the distinction between legal citizen and illegal alien doesn't really mean a whole lot to you.

I can assure you black Americans are the happiest about getting illegals out.

And I know plenty of people that came here here legally from other countries (including Mexico and South America). They want them out to.

I'd say those are the two groups happiest about this. Blacks and legal immigrants.
