On the show Thursday night, Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, denied giving money to Protect Arizona Now, which was pushing the Prop 200 immigration initiative in 2004. One of PAN's top leaders was Virginia Abernethy, a self-proclaimed "ethnic separatist."
"We never gave that organization a dime," Stein told us. "And secondly, even if we were going to give them a dime, we wouldn't have given them a dime with Virginia Abernethy associated with it."
Let's look at FAIR's website, shall we? It refers directly to financial support for Virginia Abernethy's PAN. Here's one instance:
And, La Raza (NCLR) has contributed to the racist organization MEChA. Yet, they are heralded as being the primo Hispanic advocacy group in this country.
Quote:
Some critics have accused MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlán) of being a separatist organization and denounced NCLR for being a purported “major funder” of the organization. The reality is that in 2003, NCLR provided one chapter of the organization (Georgetown University) with a $2,500 subgrant to support a conference of Latino students—mainly from the Southwest and West Coast—who were attending East Coast colleges but could not afford to travel home for Thanksgiving.
NCLR freely acknowledges that some of the organization’s founding documents, e.g., Plan Espiritual de Aztlán, contain inappropriate rhetoric, and NCLR also acknowledges that rhetoric from some MEChA members has been extremist and inflammatory.
NCLR has publicly and repeatedly disavowed this rhetoric as we have others that we believe are inappropriate, as we did when we criticized a pro-separatist Latino website for its racist and anti-Semitic views. We will continue, however, to support programs and activities that help more Hispanics enter and finish college.
Perhaps FAIR was assisting Virginia Abernathy in helping college students pursue their dreams.

Key among the secondary organizations is the radical racist group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.
There are a few goals and principles that MEChA ascribes to, according to their founding documents (EL Plan Espiritual de Aztlán, El Plan de Santa Barbara and the Philosophy of MEChA), including the recapture of “Aztlán” or in actuality all the land Mexico lost way back in the Mexican-American War. MEChA somehow feels they are being denied land that they already live in, in a country of which they are citizens. Somehow, giving this land back to a foreign country that lost it hundreds of years ago in a war is going to make it theirs.

You can start your own thread about NCLR if you want okay? I know you hate it when these anti-immigrant groups are exposed but try to stay on topic.
I had not seen your thread blacknight. This is an excellent video that everyone must see.
I took the following quotes from the same webpage you posted. Very intelligent and articulate.
Quote:
If only the problem were that he is simply an idiot. The problem is that his ilk know perfectly well what they are doing, what they are saying, and they evidently have some broad plan to influence local and national policies about racial issues while hiding behind an appealing veneer of legitimacy and benevolence.
Quote:
These things start somewhere, almost shyly, apologetically, with spokespeople willing to tell the populace that they really intend no harm and have the best interests of society at heart. And I think Ms. Maddow has done a fine job in showing this group FAIR has enough connections to eugenicists, Social Darwinians, neo-Nazis, groups like the National Alliance and other white supremacist/seperatist movements, that it is a fair thing to rationally wonder in whose image FAIR wishes to remold the country.
With all due deference to Mr. Matthews, I do not think it is irrational to wonder if FAIR and its operatives are not in league with neo-Nazi or Nazi-esque movements, whatever names they go by.
After all, it is not what a person calls herself that matters when we attempt to define her allegiences -- it is what she does and and what she upholds in her ideals. And these people smell to high heaven of racist-fascism no matter how much Mr. Stein waves his hands and smirks and denies -- and, evidently, misleads and lies.

let Anti-immigrant crowd defend FA IR.
Demonizing an anti-illegal group by exposing “contributions” made to a reputed racist, while ignoring similar actions by the most influential pro-illegal group in this country, is at the very least, intellectually dishonest. How is one side better than the other?
In any case, whether FAIR is or is not a racist organization, does not change the fact that illegal immigration violates our laws, and most opposition has no racial basis. This report is simply another ad hominem argument. However, I will refrain from further posting on this thread. I certainly wouldn’t want to be accused of hijacking. It’s all yours.

Mecha is a youth group on our college campuses made up of Chicano nationalists who want to take back parts of the southwest and make it their own Mestizo country. I don't know if the word racist is the right one but definately sediton comes to mind.
Of course if some anglo-whites wanted to carve out certain parts of the U.S. as their own they would be called racists.
