I left this as a reply on another thread here on CD but, I decided to start a thread on it. People are upset over Arizona's new law calling it racist, unconstitutional but, compared how the feds already enforce immigration, it's no big deal. If you've ever driven north on the interstate from San Diego, then you know federal immigration officers stop ever car for no reason other than to check the citizenship of each person in the vehicle. If trafficis backed-up, they'll let some cars through without questioning them.....that's profiling. Also they don't just stop cars heading north, they stop vehicles going into Mexico too. Here's an article from 5/08 explaining how authorities board buses heading for Mexico and pull people off that don't have proper doumentation and detain:

The illegal alien supporters have to call it something. Of course they cry racism. Again, they have to cry something whenever immigration laws are enforced.

Hearing leaders of this country fanning the same flame, can you really blame those who believe all of the propaganda? I do believe before any make assumptions, one should explore the sources as well as gather several for a formed opinion, critical thinking produces the most viable solutions. It distressed me last night in thinking how quickly this topic can digress. It seems we are all on the same page on most issues except for a few major points. Amnesty (or legalization of those already here) and family allowances. I watched the Grand Bargain on HBO and saw first hand how hate is being spewed from leaders to those just learning our politics, it is vile. Birthright citizenship I do believe will be readdressed and amended correctly, eventually. If those issues were addressed and agreed upon, I think alot of this nonsense of flame throwing would disappear. Now we just have to try and find a comparable soution...

To the OP, there is no racism in connection with this law, it, again; is all propaganda spun for political cause. I have never been more embarrassed for our country than I am today watching these "Senators" who supposedly represent America stoop to new lows. I have faith that some, from all areas of opinion, begin taking responsibility for this issue and try and find solutions rather than blame. I mean, we ARE America, let's start acting like it.
