This is from an article on CNN (not their opinion, simply reporting the facts):

An illegal immigrant student was involved in a traffic stop. She is here illegally, getting an education at the expense of US taxpayers, had an invalid registration, no license...

In a statement Wednesday night, Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren said, "Ms. Colotl knew that she was in the United States without authority to be here and voluntarily chose to operate a vehicle without a driver's license, which is a violation of Georgia law. She has further complicated her situation with her blatant disregard for Georgia law by giving false information."

And this is what her freaking lawyer said:

"It is obvious from all the documents that I've seen that she has done nothing wrong and has given her proper address to Cobb County and immigration officials," said Chris Taylor, Colotl's criminal attorney. "There has been no crime committed."

Can things get any stupider????.."No crime committed???"

Who the hell do these illegal immigrants (and their supporters) think they are?

And they are calling it a "civil rights disaster"?..You can say that again, a disaster for every law abiding US citizen

What type of values do they have?...Do they have any at all?

Most of us want to give them a reasonable break...But don't make idiots of us.

Maybe we're wrong about this..Maybe we should just throw them all out before they wreck this country more...We are a sovereign nation - Respect our laws.

For the whole story, here's the link:

1) It's CNN
2) Defense lawyers will defend anyone.....even the guilty. It's their job. The real problem here anyone that believes what the see or hear on TV when making a decision....(such as AG Michael Holder ) and anyone who watches CNN or MSNBC..

"The sheriff's office said she gave a false address when stopped for a violation, a felony charge that her attorney denies."

What else would her attorney say

ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL and in this case their seems to be
more then one charge

But...but...but, she was brought here as a child.........

and as a college educated adult she hasn't the brains to at least try to become legal?
She caught a break. She can finish school and then go home. Just think of the wonderful things her college education can do for her in Mexico.

No, I have no sympathy for young adults in her situation. Illegal is illegal.

Just when I think there cannot be another unbelievable story about illegal aliens . . . there is.

First of all, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the ACLU are two of THE most worthless piece of s*** organizations in America.

Secondly, just BEING IN AMERICA ILLEGALLY MAKES HER A CRIMINAL.

But people are rallying for her, defending her, her case is "a lightning rod" in the debate about immigration . . . unfreakingbelievable.

"If I were to be deported, I'd have to start all over again," - she said.

Too effing bad!

You shouldn't be in this country in the first place.

How many of these damn illegals are in this country, sponging off OUR educational system while so many kids of LEGAL citizens do not have the opportunity to receive a higher education?

This is shameful.

Have people, generally speaking, just lost their minds???!!!!!!!!

Actually, she learned this valuable lesson at the tender age of 11.

Actually, unlawful presence is treated as a civil offense. No different really than speeding. Especially since it seems she entered the country legally ( having an expired Mexican passport).

However, she did commit a crime by driving without a license. This much is stipulated. It is a matter of debate if she gave a false address.

The article text states she gave registration documents with an old address. I'm guessing the text from her attorney about "doing nothing wrong" refers to giving false information, which is a felony, and would complicate her attempting to gain legal status.
