I have recently gone to Starved Rock. And it was very beautiful. I recommend all of you to go at least once

Yes, it is very nice.
We were at White Pines and Lowden state parks today. On the Rock River near Oregon IL, very nice driveable from the city/burbs.

I like several... Starved Rock, Matthiessen, Giant City, Mississippi Palisades, Feryne Cliff, and Apple River Canyon top my list.

I second the southern Illinois state parks! Giant City is awesome, and Ferne Clyffe reminds me a lot of Germany.

Forgot about rock cut near rockford too. That is nice and again, a short drive from Chicagoland.

I totally agree about Starved Rock. While not a state park, the Shawnee Nat'l Forest in S. IL is a gem for the state!
