And $200K south of I-80 wil buy a 3bd, 2ba with garage and basement. And you still get good medical care and city services in the bargain. I lived in two of the low tax states; be careful what you ask for.

Apples and oranges. How far will that $200K get you in Columbus? Miami? Charlotte?

Downstate IL is just as inexpensive as rural parts of OH or NC...maybe not as inexpensive as TX but what is?!
