According to our governor Illinois is #1 in corporate accountability. The link is at the bottom of the page.

Don't really have anything to say except thats wrong. Its a Given NYC would take that #1 spot but these days all these fancy lists etc. have data scewed in somebodies favor one way or another.
NYC has Wall Street and more than half of the major banks and heck 8M people city/17M metro can't just live there if theres not any jobs.

Broadripple-

You are loyal to your area and I can respect you for this but I simply think your posts was off base.

Wall street has accountability??:con fused:

Did you forget one of the reasons this great depression started?
The housing collapse!!!!

Honestly who in their right mind would trust a bank right now.
This type of thinking is part of the reason we are all in the crapper right now.
Wall street has as much corruption seething from its skin than anyplace.

Have you ever heard of securities more specific mortgage back securities that many states and municipalities invested in to fund the pension programs.
This was done at the trust of the rating agencies who just happen to be in NYC!

Look up CORPORATE accountability
You have some pretty good corporations in Illinois and yes some of these corporations are very accountable.
At the bottom of the article the moderator posted was a source the Governor included in the letter.
Makes me think you just spouted off your hate to our state.

Did you ever stop to wonder why there are so many corporations based in this great state?

The Metropolitan area is close to ten million people here - Do you think that is anything to sneer about?
Indy is 1.7

In my opinion Indiana and its so called surplus is on a razors edge right now..
If this recession continues the words your constantly beating your drum to are going to turn on you.

Employers are going to go where people are located.
Access to a labor pool has to be one of the biggest drivers in a business decision to late a HQ or a plant.

Some states have Brain Drain where all the young professionals leave for greener pastures.

Taxes are just part of the picture.

Some people to the East of Illinois just march to the beat of one drum.

Some people to the East realize that is pretty much all they have to hang their hat on.

How did Indiana and other midwestern states get into this post?!

In any event, I don't think I'd believe that New York would be ranked very high in corporate accountability, but I'm also surprised that Illinois would be ranked #1...

Exactly.

Some more info for Broadrippledude.

As of 8/11 Illinois has lost 6.43% from its high of non-farm payroll jobs in the last decade.

Indiana has lost 7.12% over the same time.
