Hi Guys,

In June 2011, I threw a huge birthday party in Las Vegas. I and many of my family and freinds had NEVER been to Vegas before, we did a little shopping at the Caesar's Palace. We even met and took pictures with Boxing Legend Joe Fraizer. We had a great time partying in the 107 Lounge on top of The Stratospere where we stayed. I heard about cheap places to eat which we found none! Many people gambled and didn't see any returns, most of my guests talked about how cool it was to get the free liquor while on the casino floors. I even had a cake delivered from The World's Famous Freed's Bakery in Las Vegas. Well now everyone wants to go back next year but I need to find a new hotel/casino to take my guests to, some place where everything is there. We don't know many places to go or things to do other than what's on-line. I would like to be able to shop at an outlet mall and while googling that I stumbled upon the Freemont Hotel and Casino. Has anyone every stayed there? If so what do you think about the place? or What do you suggest?

In my opinion from being here is if you want to gamble as in cards and dice, and you want good food that is not expensive you don't stay on the strip. If you want the glitz, glamour, shows and eye candy then you stay on the strip. The real Las Vegal - stores and shopping - is not in a casino. I've always liked Binion's for cards and book. Back in the day it was the hottest spot, the first to carpet a casino floor and the first to host the WSOP.

Here is a couple of links

The last time I visited I drove south of the strip a couple of blocks and found a delightful, plain jane, Chinese restaurant with a very nice buffet that cost under $5! The entire experience reminded me a lot of gambling on the Gulf one winter. You could eat your way thought a mountain of shrimp for next to nothing. Of course this was pre-Kartrina. For gambling, food and inexpensive hotels the Gulf rocks! Converselfy, for bright lights, entertainment and the upscale non-stop party you can't beat the strip! If you have never been to the Gulf you might find that you like NOLA. It's not only very historical it is also a very interesting area with great food. I can say, though, that I don't like the bitter chicory coffee over much. LA is my favorite getaway state.

If you are interested in Illinois opinions you do not have to post in a different state. If you wish to move your post to Las Vegas I can move it for you. .
