the average income there, is in the upper 60,000's. that is really high. it's making me mad that this guy keeps calling it a hood.

Wow, if you folks consider upper 60s a "high" income that Rockford has bigger issues than I thought.

Really? How so? And what does Chicago's median household income have to do with what people in Rockford consider a high income?

Then there's you who thinks having a household income in the 60s makes them rich and snobby. That's a solidly middle-class income even by Rockford standards. In fact I don't think there's anywhere in the U.S. where an average household can live like kings on that income except maybe Appalachia and remote reaches of the deep South.

average income for illinois is 52000 and it is the 16th richest state. im not saying 60,000 is a real lot, but i am saying it is definetly not the "hood" msmc is saying it is.
