With the death of the local Butternut brands (Interstate bakeries) who will supply our daily bread and other baked good?

Most stores have a house brand or make their own: Walmart. Fleishman's has a new bread product you can make bread at home without a machine. I thought I would try it this week. Or go to a local bakery like Trefzger's in Peoria. Shnuck's has a good house bread too, as does Aldi's.

Aldi bread is decent, although the white bread it does squish up real bad in the bag if you are not careful. BUT they also now sell Turano, which is awesome!

Sara Lee is popular downstate. I think Bimbo's may have bought out Sara Lee Bakeries a couple of years ago.

For the moment we don't have to speculate. The judge ordered both sides into arbitration. If they're hemorraging as much money as they claim, they need to think outside of the box and concentrate of what sells best.

Well, if store shelves where you shop look empty ... I'm supposing you only shop at the Hostess discount shops. For if you visit any true supermarket you'll find many options from which to choose.

I don't know that all the day-old bread stores are only one distributor. It may be different in regions other than the Midwest.

What?! No more Butternut? Ugh. I just dealt with losing Wonder Bread. This stinks!
