STILL have found nothing to rent! Am now working with a realtor, and she showed my daughter one place today. Will keep looking! There is a high demand for rentals there, to say the least, and looks like lots of unkept properties.. guess this is what happens when demand exceeds supply!

I am about ready to GIVE UP, thanks to unanswered emails from realtors and property managers, I have not gotten a good feel for the area, as a place to move to.
Both my girls went to school there, and I had thought it was a nice place, but really am shocked by the rudeness! Why do realtors and property managers even have web sites, if they will not return calls, etc?

Which exact areas have you been looking at in the cities? If you've only been looking near the UIUC campus, then I understand why you aren't getting anything. It would be because students are occupying the living spaces and leases for next year have already been signed. You may want to expand a little bit further if that's what you have been finding problems with.
