I've only been there once to take my son to an appointment, we were told it was the nearest Child Psychiatrist that our insurance covered for his diagnosis process for his Autism Spectrum disorder, we live in Carbondale. I thought it was very strange to see people outside drinking beer in lawn chairs at 1 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I felt very out of place and got a lot of strange looks from people. We decided to pay out of pocket for his Child Psychiatrist appointments after that. It wasn't worth 4 hours round trip of driving with 3 kids to have the appointment covered by insurance.

I would say it is about the same. I believe you are bordered there by ESL and Alorton, two extreme high crime areas. I would think you would want to avoid this area.
