I must say, you do have to have some sympathy for Cubs fans, although they probably don't want anybody's sympathy. But it has to hurt not having a World Series trophy for 100 years and having your biggest rivals win it in 2005 and 2006.

The Cubs will have their day, though. And I'm sure they don't want anybody to feel sorry for them.

Here's the way it stacks up as I see it:

North of I-80: 85% Cubs, 15% Sox

South of I-80 to Peoria: 50% Cubs, 47% Cardinals, 3% Sox

South of Peoria including Springfield: 80% Cardinals, 20% Cubs, Chicago has two baseball teams?

South of Springfield to St. Louis: 95% Cardinals, 5% Cubs

South of St. Louis to Cairo: 10% Cardinals, 10% Braves, 80% Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Myself, sorry, no use for the yuppie northsiders. Born, raised, still, a Cardinal fan.

I am not a yuppie. Even if I was, that was a b.s. comment to make since someone like me has been a Cubs fan since birth and by no means was I born into privilaged family nor am I rolling in dough now. Your comment was classless.

I will meet you at Sheffield and Waveland on the Northwest corner at any Cubs-Card game of your choosing at Wrigley and show you how wrong you are. You better be prepared though buddy.

Nope! Those of us from south of STL are die-hard Cards fans! And despite what you seem to think, we are not a bunch of rednecks!

You are not from Illinois so your vote or opinion does not count at least in this thread when speaking of your preference. You can defend your people though. Did you even read the OP's first post?

Most people I know south of St. Louis are Cardinal fans, even though it's a 3 hour drive to St. Louis. Cardinal nation stretches into Arkansas as well.

I'm not voting in the poll, and I don't live in Illinois, I'm just saying I believe kshegirl was right.

I am not saying you cant make a poll here and I have no problem with it. I never would consider those people rednecks either. That post(not Kshe's post) was made to start arguements obviously.

Since you wanted only votes from people that live in, born in or grew up in Illinois to vote only, that is why I made my comment.

My poll/survey is about Illinois residents, so, yes, I would appreciate only voters who currently live in or have lived in Illinois in the past.
