Are there any landowners on this forum? I need to rent/barter space for a specialty project for a bus conversion project similar to
Top 5 Double Decker Bus to Motorhome Conversions

There are very few spots in even rural / unincorporated areas in the greater Chicago region where a "mobile home" can be based. The handful of "mobile home parks" MIGHT be an option but they tend to have few openings and likely would charge a high rate for connections to their sewage, water supply and electricity. The zoning in even "rural counties" discourages such land use and our harsh climate means it is not easy to stay warm in other than running LOTS of heat in such units...

To clarify, I need a place to convert/build the bus only. I will not be living on the property. Will work only on my days off from my job. I intend to buy a bus and work on it from spring thru summer. Will relocate to the west coast or Florida once finished. Thanks!

Probably going to need to find an actual GARAGE or warehouse. Most folks that have such facilities are going to need you to carry insurance too -- if you burn the place down or get crushed the last thing somebody wants is a lawsuit...
Be prepared for some shockingly large rents, the owner will have to cover their enormously high property taxes --
