It's nothing like either, but St. Louis has fewer people so....that's a little like Springfield....and St. Louis only has the Mississippi River hence no major water like Chicago - so more like Springfield? Kinda reaching here.

Situated on the Illinois Prairie, Springfield is the seat of Sangamon County and Illinois politics. Chicago and St. Louis are neither.

I live in Springfield. They did a rough census recently and found that the we have about 60% Cardinal fans and 40% Cubs fans.
