So, given the fact that Illinois is experiencing it's first tornado watch of the summer, across Chicagoland and the Northwest, I thought that it makes sense to start this thread to discuss the severe weather that will be inevitable over the next couple of months.

I'm in Cook County and it's raining hard. Doesn't look like we'll get hit by a tornado (not like we ever are - the watches are always just watches).

A tornado has been spotted in Amboy, which is in Lee County.

If you see something like this, please do not stand and film. This older gentleman survived, I believe his wife in the kitchen did not. If it isn't moving to the right or left, that only leaves 2 other options. And this funnel certainly wasn't getting smaller:

It's ridiculous that Illinois isn't considered part of Tornado Alley. It's one of the most tornado prone states in the nation, and has had several sentinel tornado events in just the past 5 years alone.......not to mention the deadliest twister in U.S. history. It's right on par with Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas as a tornado state, IMO.
