How long would it take me to go to O'Hare from the McCormick center on a Friday leaving at 4:45?

Take the blue line out from downtown and you should be there within an hour.

Default Many stops apart...

There are about a dozen stops between ORD and the Clark/Lake CTA hub. Between that hub and the Green Line closest to McCormick Place at Cermack there are another 5 stops. Regardless of whether you walk, take a bus, or use some cab / ride share there's about 10 minutes of travel between the Green line and McCormack Place.

A more realistic travel time via CTA would be about 75 - 90 minutes.

I have made that trip via standard taxi in about half that time with typical levels of rush hour traffic.

On the L, 10 minutes to walk to Green Line station depending on where you are starting at MCP, wait for train 0-10min, about 10 minutes on the Green line to Clark/Lake 5-15 min transfer and wait, 45 min on Blue Line so

1:15 or so. I agree with Chet.
