Honestly, neither party cares about spending. Just seems like the only time Republicans bring up spending is when they are not the ones doing it. Democrats are fairly open about tax and spend.

The Republican method as mentioned has been, do tax cuts and not reduce spending and just throw it all on the credit card.

You are right, Trump should be a one-term President but the Democrats do not have a formidable opponent.

This is simply not true. One of Trump’s primary campaign promises was to eliminate national debt. He said he would get rid of the national debt in 8 years. Instead, he’s increased the national debt by ~25% since taking office in less than 4 years.

Just as many Illinoisans are rightfully concerned about the state’s debt obligations, they should also be concerned about the rapidly increasing national debt.

Why would Trump pay the country bills when he never did as a private citizen. He is called the king of debt and Mr. Bankruptcy for a reason.

JB did say the new gas tax would be good for us as he would use it to fix all the roads so our cars would not need so many repairs. Its been great look at how wonderful Illinois roads are now!

Am wondering if above post is sarcasm, considering most state roads in my city have been needing resurfacing for years.

Of course. But to be clear, Trump did (at one point) announce that he would eliminate the national debt within 8 years:

But I thought the state of Illinois is the only one that’s fiscally irresponsible?

No, it’s just that Illinois is the most irresponsible.
