Very good then. And yes, its a beautiful area indeed.

Default I live in Oregon, IL

To calm all your fears and answer your questions. Oregon is beautiful it is a small town and growing. My husband & I have lived here almost 8 years. We live on a small farmette and have a spring and a well. We have never had any problems whatsoever with our drinking water. I understand your concerns as that was my concern when I first moved here. (Power Plant). I have animals and take care of lost homeless animals. Never ever have any of my animals or strays have had any deformity and we have kittens born all the time on our farm. I operate a good size garden where people buy my vegtables they are delicious and organic and never once in all the years I have lived here has there been any problem with my soil and growing vegtables and plants.
The State Parks are beautiful and they even have a deer park here where you can go and visit with your family and watch the deer. It is peacefull and beautiful and the landscape is like a picture on a wall of a beautiful garden. Oregon is a growing thriving town. Seems like everyone from the city wants to move here and so some new sub-divisions in the last 4 years have been constructed. In town they have just built 200 new homes near the High School. I live just outside of town about 2 miles inbetween Oregon and MT. Morris. I believe you will be very happy here you and your children and your children to come.

Thanks so much Oregonresident! Its great to hear from someone who grows vegetables as I, too, have a small organic garden now and was hoping to increase its size when we moved. I have never heard of the deer park, any more info would be appreciated.

Default oregon, Il

I have lived in Oregon for over 20 years. It is a great place to live. My husband and I have a home 3 miles east of Oregon and have 7 acres of land. This is very near the nuclear plant, in fact within the 10 mile zone. I have never heard of deformed kittens or strange vegetables! That is ridiculous.Oregon has a great park district and many beautiful parks with walking paths. It's a great place to live and I am always surprised when visitors comment on how beautiful it is...as you know it's easy to take for granted the things we see everyday. I recommend your move totally. Welcome!
