All I know is that any government that taxes people out of their homes, causes an exodus of residents, and serves itself above the people has no business being allowed to exist in the USA. We need major changes here and Madigan and JB are in no way either inclined nor capable of doing so.

To circle back to the OP, JB didn't even really campaign hard on legalization. Also, I think Rauner stated that even though he is against legalized pot, if the bill came across his desk, he'd sign it.

And Rauner lost because he was a terrible governor. He would have had a shot if he had not signed into law the tax-payer funded abortions law and the sanctuary state bill. Those two really finished him off with his base. Just like not building the wall, omnibus and aid to Mexico will sink Trump with his base.

You need to pick yourself up by the bootstraps, go back to school, get retrained. You know all this things reblicons say to poor people.

Yea JB will definitely be more effective than Rauner and will accomplish a lot of things. They will all be horrible things that cause more damage to the state and suffering to its residents but things will get done under him.
He moved the state into 10’s of billions of additional debt in only 4 years. Considering that was his plan from the start, I wouldn’t say he was “roadblocked”.

As opposed to pay us $10-20,000 per year or we will seize your house that the dummycraps say to old people and working folks.

The debt is going to increase no matter what anyone does. That $250E9 in pension liabilities the state owes, that is if they funded it completely right now and it grew invested as per their models. The debt is going to compound the way the invested money should have. That is why the state will eventually run out of money and no state supreme court decisions can change that simple fact.

Oh and we will see how much laughing there will be when all those state workers who were depending on the Dems for their dream retirement end up getting the shaft.
