Yes. A massive failure. He got nothing done and put this state in a much worse position than when he was sworn in. He managed to run up $16 billion dollars in debt while accomplishing absolutely nothing. The exodus only accelerated while Rauner was the Governor.

We’ll see. If he wants any chance at reelection, Trump better roll over on the tariff talk before he leads the country into it’s next recession. The start of a recession and downward economy is not a good look heading into the election cycle.

so, some people consider it a win when taxes/spending increase, and NOTHING decreases? And, very impressive how they snuck in a pay raise for them selves...thats showing some real courage...

So sad, yet its just business as usual in Illinois...

Um yeah.....good luck with that. Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection could be extended to states if Congress took up the issue. They won't so look for other solutions.

Everything Rauner did made the state worse off than it was when he was sworn in and it's amazing that you're still white knighting for him.

If you think the exodus was bad under Rauner, it is going to really ramp up now with more and more regressive taxation increases under the "party of the working people lol".

What was the point of even having him as Governor then? It's his job to actually work with people in order to get his agenda pass. If you can't get all parts of your agenda passed then you negotiate. That just the lowest function of actually governing and he failed to even do that.

Instead he simply dictated which is why he got nothing done and made left us in a worse position than when he was sworn in. He was so bad that he almost lost a Primary to Ives and you are still defending him?

And not just raising taxes, regressive tax increases. Who is going to pay for the higher gas taxes and registration fees? The truck drivers, uber drivers, pizza delivery guy, delivery driver, traveling nurses. And we have people cheering this? Very sad.

This is why I have no confidence in the progressive income tax only taxing the rich. Every single tax increase the Dems have pushed so far has been regressive especially property.

Hate to break it to you but taxes were raised under him.

And yes, he made the state worse. When you aren't paying your bills then interest accrues on the back log. It was reckless, stupid and grossly irresponsible.
