You showed me the pension numbers where? I’m going to take the word of a poster who has been exposed as a fraud over someone who works in the financial accountability office in a major city in Texas? RIGHT

Chicago can't even afford their own schools or other city services, much less help the state.. Have you see the city deficits and liabilities???? Huge!!

Lol neither can Texas, the residents have to go on payment plans to try and keep up with city services or utilities. Come up with something else

Yeah really bad idea to use a state where property taxes are just as bad as the state being talked about most on here.

Chicago does indeed have a robust economy, but none of that matters if you continually spend more than you take in. The city could bring in a trillion a year in revenue, but if their expenses and liabilities are 3 trillion, you still wind up with a serious problem on your hands. These are not especially challenging concepts to understand.

Yes, you can borrow more to make up the difference but eventually when you get deep enough in the red the consequences of a large debt profile means you pay more in interest to borrow from Peter to
pay Paul. Eventually is starts to become like a giant Ponzi scheme, which is essentially where Illinois is now.

And Texas has many programs for its residents to help pay gas, water, electricity and other bills.

Well you just admitted that Chicago has a robust economy. Something that Jon998877 is incapable of owning. But, you aren’t telling me anything that I don’t know. And you know Illinois is taking steps to reform its pension fund. Already mandated a 401k for private sector employees. Doesn’t take much to change a pension into a 401k. Let new public sector employees start at such and such date with a 401k. Done.

More inaccuracies from you... property taxes on median house in Illinois $4100, in Texas $2700.... Have you been right yet??? I don't think so... keep trying
