The article just bases the question off of economic outlook, business outlook and personal cost of living, in that sense Wisconsin wins and the proof is in the pudding since so many Flatlanders are moving to the Badger State.

WI’s bigger challenge is retaining and attracting college grads. Outside of Madison/Dane county and parts of Milwaukee, it is troublesome.

Wisconsin drivers???? LMAO!!! I grew up in HELLinois and left 20 years ago. Back then I-90 from Rockford to Chicago was a damn racetrack!!! 90MPH wasn't fast enough of those morons weaving in and out of traffic and cutting people off and diving across 4 lanes of traffic like idiots. Hasn't gotten any better i'm told. At least the cheese heads drive friendly.

I'm glad some of y'all like the city. For the life of me i can't figure out why but i'm glad you do as it gives me room to stretch out and walk around my property buck naked if i want because no neighbors can see me through the trees 5 acres away. Lived in a city for 6 months and it was the worst 6 months of my life. Almost went insane. Cars, sirens, Planes all hours of the night. How the hell do you city dwellers do it???

Remind me not to walk in the woods if you are outside when I am up north in about a month LOL.

The entire city of chicago is nothing like your experience living there, btw.

I like how fast people in Illinois drive. I don't like people driving like they are manic (tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, etc.), but it's better than having cops writing tickets everywhere.

I agree. Stay away from Wisconsin. The people are mean, the weather is crap, the housing is overpriced and the drivers are terrible. Most days i have to wear a helmet in my car because i fear for my life. The snow just melted yesterday. $200K won't buy you but a few sheets of plywood at Menards... Even looking at another person around here will get you put in a chokehold. Seriously..stay in Chicago...so much more to see and do...

No reason to hate Wisconsin, that's just irrational. I do know that people who are fleeing tax asylum from Illinois are going to be surprised. Wisconsin is not low tax. The homes in anywhere one would want to live aren't that cheap. Gas isn't a whole lot less (although might be different now with our new fuel tax increases). And they tax retirement income and social security.
Not anti Wisconsin as we have thought about retirement there. But it's not retirement friendly. Illinois does not tax retirement income and social security (yet). We are monitoring this closely. If they start, we are out of here.
