Maybe 1,000 people attending vicariously via Facebook Live?

From your first link:
"The video shows attendees impressed by the number of people who watched the video on Facebook Live; at one point a woman shakes her butt for the camera, as the person filming it remarks that 800 people are watching."

Yes, that may have been why that number was quoted. In my post meant to say it couldn't have been more than 100 people. It definitely looks pretty packed in that video, but no way is it 1,000 people.

This thread has been cleaned up, deleting numerous off-topic and orphaned posts. Please remember that this is the Illinois forum. Posts should stay on topic and should relate to the Illinois stay at home order.

There is a thread in Current Events where you can discuss COVID-19 in general. There are also COVID-related threads in Politics where you may discuss national and international politics to your heart's content.

If this thread goes off-topic again, it will be permanently locked.

"This state rep was looking to gain some celebrity for himself," Gov. Pritzker said on the Today Show. "He took it to a local court, to a local elected judge and got the ruling that I think he knew he was going to get."

Yeah ok JB, whatever you say.

I'm surprised Captain Porkchop didn't blame Trump.

I may have dozed off during his press briefing today, but did I really hear him say, "The only way you're going to leave the house, Alice, is if you're going to the moon! Bang, Zoom!"

Or would it be more apropos to envision Dino locking him out of the cave? Wilma!!

Seriously, if it's OK for me to go to a crowded supermarket while wearing a mask, why not allow people to return to jobs where they can socially distance, and also wear masks, like in an auto assembly plant?

Totally paraphrasing here, but remember: When government seizes power, they are extremely reluctant to give it away.

I hope no one forgets what they are seeing right now - so that something like this can never happen again.

Sorry Illinois - this is infuriating, and so careless about the people who need to work, and the small businesses who need business to start coming in again.

Pritzker has been in an elected office for 15 months and already knows everything there is to know about government and political power, and how the citizens should lead their lives. Before that he was trying to beat the system by removing toilets from his mansion to avoid paying taxes, and trying to buy a political office from the most corrupt governor we've ever had. And is just my imagination or has his hair not grown during this shut down, hmmmm, maybe he has a private barber ? The hard life of the privileged few.
