lol. Are you kidding? Democrats dedicate their lives to figuring out new ways to raise taxes. She is signaling property taxes will increase.

Gordon Lightfoot would have a better chance.

In your lifetime, you have a better chance of being crowned king of England than seeing across-the-board tax cuts in Chicago and/or Illinois.

What will be interesting to see is....they did an across the board 10% cut to assessments in Cook County for Covid. But they haven't set the tax rate yet. I am guessing tax bills will be the same. Should know in about a month.

The voters of Illinois made this bed, and now they must lie in it, or bail to Florida, Tennessee, or other Red states with far less political corruption, and taxes.

The gov't pensions in Illinois are so underfunded, there's no escaping bankrupcy....its just a matter of time.

Illinois voters were lied to and hoodwinked, but it took them a few decades to catch on to it, so now they are leaving.

Now is the great awakening...Illinois is broke, and is in a downward death spiral like Detroit was. Smart peolewho can leave are leaving.

Taxes can only go up, so bail while you still can, and admit your mistakes so you don't repeat them elsewhere.

If you back out inbound immigration, Illinois is losing Thousands of taxpayers every year due to high taxes caused by gov't greed.

Bankruptcy is a American way. Ask Donald J Trump. He could put some personal debt among it too and hated when it was called Personal Bankruptcy. As for a state. That needs the Feds. There is no real Precedence to it occurring though wartime waaay back is a bit of a case. A State Defaulting is a case the Feds must be part of.....

Once IL could or NY or NY or..... be a first. It would FORCE restructuring that no compromising was found between the parties and with the Unions and other states may have that precedence then be used in their cases.

National Debt skyrockets too with no agreement to spend for a possible Infrastructure Bill with Transit if the Dems get their way. Still not financed but more debt as raising any taxes is a scourge. So much monies sheltered it just stays untouchable so we make more. Must be something in it for those Nations used as Tax shelters though the business is not on their land and can stay in the US of A and set their yards filled with flags. They made it their way and keeping it is a right and righteous even that way.

I actually see Default of the state like any disaster that Hits Texas or California of Florida Billions then from states that could use some all head to the booming states with issues of choosing where they built Cheaper for a century for a reason AC make a huge new impact we dance with since. States that were lower and lessor now higher and till the cheaper for its metros rise and rise even more.... they will continue if Corporate America still maintains the move. Time will tell. Once a Independence movement of a state occurs? A wrench could be seen as hurting this region??? It will the Nation as a whole and Globally .... but it WILL COME. Part of the Pre-One-World-Order...fall of our Empire before they can have our spoils..... We then gave them a way in for sure. George Washington WILL roll in his Grave as he WARNED US of this USA EXPERIMENT and what could have it fail.... Political Parties, splits and inability to compromise and militias that are not on one goal.

I am sure someone knows here everyone cannot move to these current Daring-States or nearby states with high poverty but dirt cheap everything else. It can be dirt cheap in Northern states to with more depressed areas of the state not growing WFH could have you live there much much cheaper too with land and .....

Florida was all hope does not loss beach-front property or its watertable be more compromised. It may see fit to take more measures if ocean waters rise as Miami/Miami Beach did. I say the state should do the bulk and well you get taxed more.... it is for a cause that by them cannot be denied IF TRUE. Might be 50yrs out but more hurricanes not helping ... before such issues get deep past you claiming MOVE TO FLORIDA TO ESCAPE IL TAXES. Always areas of huge demand .... only have prices go up. Growth keeps ahead but will not last forever. Wealth continually must be made to keep up with those in most demand areas.

Texas clearly has much more land. No off the hook from hurricanes for sure and calamities keep coming and new ones.... what is next sometimes we think..... ok SEND FEMA again. Rebuild homes. Offer cheaper insurance. So then can keep building.

If this doesn't make you stay out of this state, nothing will.

Florida has less corruption? Term limits may not allow politicians to stay in office long, but they spend a lot of time finding ways to line their pockets. I did a continuing legal education last year for FL and they actually brought up that people might mention IL as a symbol of corrupt gov’t, but FL is worse.
