How much do you have to spend? Where will you be working? How far are you willing to travel to work?

I would not recommend Chicagoland. If you like a nice job and great education and want to live where the seasons change, I recommend you try Wisconsin.

cdesz is off base. Wisconsin is for long weekends, whereas Chicago is for living. The seasons change in Chicago. In fact, we get longer summers and winters that are not quite as cold. Too boot, Chicago has everything Wisconsin has, and more. Like sports? Chicago has a team in every professional sports league. Like food? Chicago's variety can't be touched by anywhere in Wisconsin. Like to fly anywhere? O'Hare airport is the central hub, so flights go non-stop to many more places. Museums? We have hundreds that are some of the best in the country. The list goes on and on. You didn't mention your housing price, which is important since there are too many places to mention. For schools, check out this link: Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site
