My family and I will be in Rockford for the Regional Soccer Tournament perhaps until Wednesday and except for 2 soccer games a day, we don't have much else to do so I would love some suggestions of fun things to do.

I would suggest you consider something in Chicago. It's only about an hour's drive.

I myself would go to Wisconsin (there are no tolls in Wisconsin and smoother roads) Madison is a nice place to spend a day or Lake Geneva is another. Its very nice there and would be a great way to spend some time. As far as Rockford Rock Cut is a nice place and if your into Racing the Rockford Speedway is always a fun time. I hope you have a great time where ever you go. My Home (http://www.newtohavasu.net/ - broken link)

Not much to do in Rockford, really. There are the Anderson Japanese Gardens, which are pretty neat and a few small waterparks, thats about it. lol You should head to Chicago or Madison, WI, as suggested. If you want to stay in the "suburbs", you can check out downtown Naperville, there are many restaurants, a riverwalk, etc, etc.

I don't know how old your kids are but there are things to do in Rockford. Don't let all the haters scare you.
First and foremost though.....Sportscore is completely under water. Might want to check if your tournament is still on.

REPLY: You will definitely want to to go the Water Park at I-39 and I-90 . There is a big shopping mall , The ClockTower Inn at Route 20 and I-90 has a variety of stores and a theatre for plays , RockCut State Park at I-90 and Route 173 on the far northside of Rockford is a nice Park with Lake, and theres the Rockford Speedway in case you like car races.

Yeah, the tournament is still on, its in sportscore 2 we are here right now actually, right by the Volcano Falls you mentioned. My kids are 13 to 19, 13 and 19 year old boys and 15 and 17 year old girls. If you don't mind, can I have some more recommendations, we are probably going to go to the mall and maybe the water park and museums.

If you hit the mall and you're looking for a place to grab a bite to eat......hit Granite City.

Great food, great atmosphere.....and if anyone there likes beer...they brew their own.

How far are you willing to travel?
There's a 6 Flags in Gurnee, which is a good hour and a half drive...but WELL worth it!
Six Flags Great America

A couple people mentioned the speedway already and so will I. Another good time for everyone
